Text Message Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This page explains when Westchester Podiatric Medicine sends a text message, what those messages contain, how you tell us it is alright to send them, and how to stop them.
The short version
- We text you only if you told a member of our staff, out loud and in the office, that it is alright.
- Saying no changes nothing about your care. It is not a condition of being treated here.
- Reply STOP to any message and we will not text you again. Reply HELP for our phone number.
- Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for these messages.
- We never sell or share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing.
Who sends these messages
Westchester Podiatric Medicine — the practice of John C. Marzano, DPM, at 700 White Plains Rd, Suite 308, Scarsdale, NY 10583. Our office number is (914) 423-0600. Text messages are sent on our behalf through Twilio, a messaging provider; the content is written by this practice.
What we send
One kind of message, sent one time after a visit: a short note thanking you for coming in and inviting you to leave a public review of the practice, with a link to do so. Here is the message, in full:
Hi [first name], thank you for visiting Dr. Marzano’s office. If you have a minute, a Google review helps us a lot: [link to our Google review page] Reply STOP to opt out.
We do not send appointment reminders, marketing or promotional offers, or anything about your diagnosis or treatment by text. Anything to do with your care is a phone call.
How often
Once per visit, at most. Our system will not send a second review request to the same mobile number. In practice that means most patients receive one message ever.
How you opt in
Verbally, at the front desk. When you check out, a member of our staff asks whether it is alright to send you a text message inviting a review, and reads out the mobile number we have on file. We send a message only if you say yes. Your answer is recorded in our practice system alongside the number and the date.
There is no online sign-up form for these messages, and we do not text a number simply because it appears on a patient form or an appointment request. Nothing on this website subscribes you to text messages.
Saying no has no effect on your care. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of being seen, treated, or scheduled at this practice.
How to stop the messages
Reply STOP to any message from us. That takes effect immediately and automatically, and you will receive one final message confirming it. We will not text you again.
Reply HELP and you will receive our practice name and phone number. You can also call us at (914) 423-0600 or email info@westchesterpodiatric.com and ask us to remove your number, and we will.
Cost
Westchester Podiatric Medicine does not charge you anything for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan, and carriers are neither liable for delayed or undelivered messages nor charging you on our behalf.
Supported carriers
These messages are supported on all major United States mobile carriers. Delivery depends on your carrier and is not guaranteed.
Your mobile number
We use your mobile number for this one purpose and no other. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing. It is handled the same way as the rest of your contact information — see our Privacy Policy. The records we keep about your care are covered separately, under federal and New York health privacy law and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
